Quadra Island is located in the heart of the Discovery Islands, a 10-minute ferry ride from Campbell River, north central Vancouver Island, in British Columbia. A longtime tourist
destination, Quadra offers visitors a wealth of aquatic and outdoor recreation, a lively arts and summer market scene, and a fine complement of restaurants and local eateries.Travelling to Quadra Island
By car and ferry: Drive up the Inland Island Highway (Hwy 19) on Vancouver Island to Campbell River, BC, about four hours from Victoria, 1.5 hours from Nanaimo. 
Take BC Ferries from the Campbell River ferry terminal to Quathiaski Cove on Quadra Island. The ferry takes 15 minutes, but in peak season, travellers may experience a one-sailing wait. For Quadra ferry schedules, view the schedule at the BCF website.
By air: Campbell River Regional Airport(YBL) is about 40 minutes from Vancouver by air and about 1.5 hours from Seattle. A shuttle runs from the airport to the ferry terminal in Campbell River.

Things to do
A stay at Fox Meadows cottage brings you the best of Quadra all year round. In the summertime, kayaking, fishing, and swimming are popular activities. Walking, hiking, and 
cycling are great ways to explore the island's parks and trails. Local outfitters offer whale and bear watching, dive charters, kayaking, cruising, and fishing tours.
Our Community Centre is home to beautiful walking trails and tennis courts. A nine-hole golf course, a few kilometres from Fox Meadows, opens in 2012. Regular cultural attractions on Quadra include May Day, Canada Day, the Art Studio Tour, the Quilt and Garden Tour, and the Annual Fall Fair.
While Fox Meadows has many summer visitors, the shoulder seasons have much to offer as some of Quadra's best recreation opportunities are in the late spring and early fall.
Local amenities
Quadra Island is a vibrant community of 2500 people and is served by a full range of shops and services. Organic foods, fresh produce, and local seafoods are readily available at
island stores and merchants. Quadra merchants delight our visitors with a mix of contemporary and local fare from craft shops and bookstores to bike shops and health food stores ... and just about everything in between.
Services on the island include a credit union, PetroCan station, auto repair shops, marinas, two post offices, pharmacy, medical centre, fitness centre, and library. The Quadra Community Centre and the Quadra Children's Centre offer summer recreation programs for kids — open to visitors as well as to residents.

Trails and parks
Quadra Island is blessed with a well-developed network of trails that draw thousands of visitors every year. The Kay Dubois and Haskin Farm trails are a few minutes from Fox 
Meadows' doorstep.
The nearby Community Centre trails are popular for walking and cycling, and the paths at Rebecca Spit Marine Provincial Park welcome hikers of all ages and abilities.
For more serious trekkers, well-marked routes to Heriot Ridge, Chinese Mountain, and Maude Island offer superb views of Vancouver Island and the Coast Mountain ranges. Seasoned hikers also love to explore the trails around Morte, Newton, and Nugedzi lakes which boast fabulous swimming all summer long and well into the fall.
On the water
On Quadra Island you're never far from the water, and for many people our ocean playground is what makes this island so special. Local outfitters and guides offer a variety of 
tour packages to get you out on the water doing what you love — kayaking, diving, fishing, paddling at Vallage Bay Lakes. Kayak lessons by certified instructors are offered at most island kayak venues, while custom tours, combination tours, and rentals are all available.
The waters around Quadra offer something for every kayaker's skill level. Protected inlets and harbours are excellent for day trips, while multi-day excursions take you into more challenging waters. See Links for a list of island outfitters and guides.
Local culture
MAY DAY CELEBRATION Saturday May 26 at Rebecca Spit Park. An island classic since 1989! May Day Parade, CR Pipe Band, May Pole Dance, belly dancers, music, and games. 
STUDIO ART TOUR Saturday and Sunday June 2 and 3. Visit island artists and crafters in their studios and take in the group exhibition at Quadra Community Centre.
QUADRA QUILT AND GARDEN TOUR Saturday and Sunday June 16 and 17. Tickets at Tourist Info and stores.
CANADA DAY Wednesday July 1 at Rebecca Spit Park. Games, music, belly dancers, great food, great family fun.
FARMERS MARKET Saturdays in the summer from 9 to 2, located behind the Coastal Community Credit Union in Quathiaski Cove.
